A Whole New Meaning to “One Stop Shop”

At Eagle Vending, we pride ourselves on being our customers one stop shop. From coffee, to healthy snacks to cold beverages and break room supplies we do our best to stock everything you need to keep your break room running smoothly and your employees happy throughout Atlanta.

But we’ve come across a few vending machines this summer that have made us realize that the world is ready to vend so much more than break room supplies, so much so that if we brought in all these machines we wouldn’t just be a one stop shop we would be the equivalent of a vending 5 star restaurant and Hollywood designer super mart.

Scroll down for a look at some of the machines that caught our eye. We hope you have as much fun looking at them as we did compiling them. And if you are looking for an Atlanta vendor to supply all your break room needs (minus the caviar) give Eagle Vending a call at 770-426-1969 we’d love to discuss customizing a program that fits your company’s unique needs.

Miami Summer Deals

For example, a child might receive a small t-shirt, a woman might have received Pit Bull’s perfume, some lucky participants even received tickets to Miami.

Teaching Schools a Lesson…on Healthy Vending Options in Atlanta

At the end of August which means in most parts of the country days are getting shorter, bed iStock_000004501197XSmalltimes are getting earlier and meal options are changing as summer fun comes to an end and school begins.

As students were having lazy summer days in Atlanta, taking family vacations, camping, swimming, enjoying the luxury of youth the 2014 School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference was held in Boston, Massachusetts this July, the same month that the new “Smart Snacks in Schools” nutrition standards took effect.

Under these new regulations in order for a snack to be sold on a school campus it must meet the following criteria:

Picture1In addition to the above nutrient standards, any food sold in schools must meet at least one of the following four criteria:

  1. Be a “whole grain-rich” grain product;
  2. Have as the first ingredient a fruit, a vegetable, a dairy product, or a protein food;
  3. Be a combination food that contains at least ¼ cup fruit and / or vegetable;
  4. Contain 10% of the Daily Value (DV) of a nutrient of one of the nutrients of public health concern in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (calcium, potassium, vitamin D, or dietary fiber).*

You might be thinking that those are strict guidelines and wondering what kind of snacks will be available to schools via vending machines. The truth is that due to fresh food vending machines, like the Fit Pick machine featured in the pavilion of the School Nutrition conference, fresh, healthy choices can not only be available in schools but can taste delicious too, helping make the healthy choice the easy choice for students.

In addition to fresh produce many brands are coming out with new recipes to meet growing health concerns (i.e. Poptarts and Nature Valley granola bars are two major brands who are revamping their recipes to better meet the health guidelines for schools).

So, if you’re a mom/dad reading this and in the hustle of switching from Summer to Fall, High school students eating in the school cafeteriapass out after tucking the kids into bed without making their next day lunch, don’t worry because a healthy meal will only be a few dollars and the push of a button away.

If you’re a teacher/principle/school board adviser reading this and don’t have vending on your campus because you didn’t realize healthy options were that easy to obtain, call your leading Atlanta vendor today, Eagle Vending at (770) 426.1969! School might have started but it’s not too late to make a change and get an A+ on your school’s nutrition report card this Fall 2014.
